Theregression equations were (a) feedefficiency=2.8994  0.1508  X   ( in vitro  pentoses),  R  2 =0.390;  p   0.0001 and (b)  X  ( in vitro   pentoses)/feedefficiency=  1.873  0.817  X   ( in vitro  pentoses),  R  2 =0.845;  p   0.0001.                     
