But now due to unscientific extraction, storing, processing and marketing practices, NTFP are being over-exploited. To reduce the degradation and depletion rates of NTFP, there is a need for quantification of growing stock and annual allowable harvest for the sustainable management. Field site is selected as government managed forest of Bachchha, Barachaur & Bhoksin VDCs of Parbat district .  Both primary as well as secondary data was collected from the study sites. Primary data was collected through key- informant survey, household survey with questionnaire,  participatory resource assessment, direct observation, group discussion, NTFP inventory method while secondary data was collected through published and unpublished documents from concerned organizations. From this sudy, the status & ecological distribution of NTFPs ( density, frequency, abundance ,simpson's diversity index, Shannon Weaver Function, current yield of harvestable stock ) was assessed; selection of potential NTFP for enterprise development and anlysis of prevailing marketing situation of NTFPs for enterprise development was determined of the study area .  It is equally useful for Department of Forest, Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, Department of Plant Resource, Livelihood & Forestry Program as well as  planning commission for formulating the programs. Key words: NTFP assessment, NTFP distribution, marketing channels, enterprise development, ethnobotany, NTFP value addition, sustainable harvest   . v
